Malcolm Steinberg Inducted into AAMA Industry Hall of Fame
April 2023: The Entertainment and Education Group (TEEG) is delighted to announce that Malcolm Steinberg, Chairman of the LAI Group and a visionary leader in the entertainment industry, has been inducted into the US Industry Hall of Fame by the American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA). The prestigious award was announced on March 29, 2023, in Las Vegas.
Steinberg founded Timezone in Perth, Australia, in 1978, and under his leadership, the brand has grown into a global leader in family entertainment, with over 320 locations operating across Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Singapore, and Vietnam. In addition to Timezone, Steinberg also established several major brands, including Zone Bowling, Kingpin and Play ‘N’ Learn.
Malcolm Steinberg's induction into the AAMA Hall of Fame is a testament to his outstanding contribution to the industry over the past 45 years. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from AAMA in 2009, becoming the first and only non-US citizen to earn that distinction. He is also the first living non-US citizen to be inducted into the US Industry Hall of Fame.
Upon receiving the award, Malcolm expressed his gratitude and humility, stating that he is honored to be recognized by an industry he has passionately served and committed to for 45 years.
AAMA is an international not-for-profit trade organization representing manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, professional service providers, and location owner/operators in the coin-operated amusement industry. The association's mission is to enhance the industry through collaboration, education, advocacy, and networking.
TEEG is proud to have Malcolm Steinberg as part of its leadership team and congratulates him on this well-deserved honor.
