Stunning Transformation of Timezone Surfers Paradise Unveiled
Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, QLD: The iconic 5,000 square metre Timezone at Surfers Paradise has unveiled the incredible makeover that breathes new life into one of the country’s most famous indoor family entertainment centre. Having closed for renovations since July, the world’s largest Timezone reopened its doors at 10am on Saturday 9 November and has already hosted a constant stream of local guests and tourists, embracing the chance to experience the transformation and test-out the venue’s all-new games and features.
Rebuilt from the ground up, the revitalized venue promises entertainment overload boasting Australia’s largest range of games and attractions with over 250 of the latest arcade games, a USA designed and constructed laser tag arena, brand new Bumper Car attraction, Bowling Lanes and exclusive glow-in-the-dark mini-golf experience that promises to delight the entire family. Guests will be able to redeem prizes from Australia’s largest range at the Prize Shop or chill out with a coffee at the brand new cafe.
Group CEO Sonaal Chopra commented that the community’s reaction to the venue re-opening has been overwhelming, saying “we knew we had a winner with the innovative design and the bevy of new features but the response from guests has exceeded our expectations!” Speaking about the extensive refurbishment, Sonaal mentions that, “we have invested heavily to create the most modern and exciting family entertainment centre for the 21st century and there is no doubt that we have raised the bar in offering unique entertainment experiences that families, children and groups of friends will thoroughly enjoy!”

Having wowed Gold Coast locals and tourists in various forms for almost 40 years, the venue was also declared the world’s best family entertainment centre by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions in recent years. In a city famous for family tourist attractions, the venue plays a key role in enticing youngsters and the young at heart to visit the Surfers Paradise precinct.

Having started life as the iconic Grundy’s Entertainment Centre in 1981, the arcade came under the Timezone Australia banner in 1993 and has established itself as the Gold Coast’s must-attend destination for locals and tourists.
