Timezone and Zone Bowling Level Up Entertainment in Cheltenham

Melbourne, Australia, June 2025: Family fun in Cheltenham gets reset to ‘epic’ this June, as a brand-new Timezone & Zone Bowling opens its doors in Westfield Southland! Combining two entertainment icons under one roof, the new dual-branded venue will be the go-to destination for parties, school holiday entertainment, and unbeatable out-of-home fun for guests of all ages.

This opening also marks a new era for tenpin bowling in the area. Zone Bowling Moorabbin has been a local bowling institution since first opening its doors in 1963, holding a special place in the hearts of generations of bowlers, especially its passionate league community. Now, that legacy is set to evolve at Southland, where the new venue features 19 full-length tenpin bowling lanes powered by the latest technology, including the USBC-approved EDGE String Pinspotter from Qubica AMF, which delivers an authentic, professional and seriously fun bowling experience for both competitive and casual bowlers.

Bowling is just the beginning. When Timezone & Zone Bowling Southland opens on Thursday 19 June, Baysiders can look forward to a weekend of celebrations on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 June. Located near the cinemas and restaurant precinct in Westfield Southland, the venue also features a Laser Tag Arena, interactive AI Darts booths, and ColourGrid – a brand-new, high-energy, interactive floor challenge using pressure-responsive colour tiles on the floor and walls to guide players through different game modes. Also making a splash is ClawTime – a dedicated claw machine arena, which is a plushie-hunter’s dream and a growing fan favourite at select Timezone locations. It makes its debut here at Southland and is guaranteed to be a hit.
